- Our Lord talked about parable as below;
“Mark 4: 10 And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable.
11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:
12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive, and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.
13 And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?”
Jesus talks about the parable related to “the mystery of the kingdom of God.”
So, we now know that:
- In the Bible, there is a certain type of knowledge, “the mystery of the kingdom of God.”
- This type of knowledge is not permitted or not given to the ordinary Christian people.
These mysteries are sealed and not opened to them. - But for His disciple, it is given, and they may understand.
- This “the mystery of the kingdom of God” is hidden in the biblical parable.
- If disciple hopes to know “the mystery of the kingdom of God,” they must
understand biblical parables. Therefore, Lord scolds the disciple who does not understand this “Seed sower” parable. - This “Seed sower” parable is the example test. However, disciples can not understand this parable; therefore, they can not pass this example test. So, the Lord scolds them.
- Lord said to them, “Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?” That is to say, if you can not pass this example test, how can you
pass all other tests? So, we understand there are many parables included in the bible. And Lord expects the disciples to understand these parables and
reveal “the mystery of the kingdom of God” to the people. - Later part of this chapter, Lord also talks about like below: “Mark 4: 33 And with many such parables spake he the word unto them, as they were able to hear it.
34 But without a parable spake he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples.”
The Scripture wrote about Jesus, “But without a parable spake he not unto them.”
Which means every word said by the Lord are in the parable. So, we have to pay attention to understand the parable meaning of the Lord’s word.
Especially the word talked about end-time is full of parables, so, we should pay much attention to understand His word’s parable meaning.
For example, below descriptions are parable and not to be interpreted literally:
Matthew 24: 29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
If stars literally fall from heaven to the earth, this small earth will collapse and
destroy immediately. So, there should be no three and half years Tribulation period, etc. For the earth will be destroyed in a second if stars fall to this earth.
These Lord’s words should be interpreted with a parable.
We believe, in this time, to understand the parable is forgotten in the church; therefore,
“the mystery of the kingdom of God” is not revealed to the church, and
seven seals of the book of Revelation are not open to the church. For further details, see below articles;
