NO. 225 A CERTAIN SOUND OF THE TRUMPET (2)

TEXT: 1 CORINTHIANS 14: 7- 11 7 And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?

8 For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?

9 So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air.

10 There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.

11 Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me. (KJV)

Today we would like to learn about blowing the trumpet of the warning through a message entitled gA CERTAIN SOUND OF THE TRUMPET.h

Letfs look at the text.

7 gAnd even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?h

It would be shame on the player, if he plays the pipe or harp but the hearers do not know or differentiate at all if he plays gKimigayoh or gThe National Song of America.h

Likewise, though the Lord says the watchman to warn them clearly, it would be sad if the hearers of the trumpet cannot differentiate what sign he gives, or whether it is the warning or sound for meeting or lunch.

8 gFor if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?h

The trumpet means the horn, and if the hearers do not understand what they have to be careful of, or what or how is wrong, as the sound is unclear, that is the responsibility of the player.

Nobody will know it is the time of the battle to prepare for it, if he hears the trumpet in such a sound as, gGodfs warning should be given. But it cannot be so to blame or warn, pointing the name. Otherwise, they will hate and attack. So, it should be blown to the extent that nobody is interfered.h

What should be called such a trumpet that is blown for considering and seeing only men? It looks to the player like, gIt is the peaceful work not to hurt any one or to cause any trouble.h

9 gSo likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air.h

The tongue is the metaphor of a teacher according to James. So, it says about the teacher giving clear warning, gYe utter by the tongue words easy to be understood.h As they have not accomplished the work of warning, nobody understands the present time to prepare to the battle. The word gthe airh is used in another passage as, gso fight I, not as one that beateth the air.h So, their words are spoken like gspeaking into the air,h and the hearer will fight to beat the air.

10 gThere are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.h

The translation of the original words, gwithout signification,h is far from the original meaning, which should be as, gdumb (voiceless) voice.h

The word gdumbh is used in other part as below.

1 CORINTHIANS 12: 2 Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away into these dumb idols, even as ye were led. (KJV)

gThe word (voice)h is used as below.

MATTHEW 3: 3 For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Esaias, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight. (KJV)

Therefore, the translation of the original meaning of the verse should be as below.

gThere are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is voiceless (dumb voice).h

The role of the voice is to tell people some thing to make them understand clearly. John the Baptist accomplished his work shown of God sufficiently as gthe voice of one crying in the wilderness.h

As he told the multitude with no doubt that it is now just the very time of Godfs judgment, saying clearly, gThe axe is laid unto the root of the tree,h the people received the Baptism of repentance one after another.

If he had told ambiguous nonsense like the unreasonable teachers now, saying, gThe end time has already begun from the beginning of the Church age (?),h nobody would have come to the wilderness to hear him.

And he said clearly to the Pharisees and Sadducees, gO generation of vipers.h And, they could at least hear the warning of God for them through John. They should have to be able to receive and bear this warning that was pointed out to them, though not all of them repented by his severe words.

Now, where is this John the Baptist around us? It is filled with unaffable, or speaking better, uninjured, or speaking worse, neither good nor bad, warning around us, isnft it?

Though the revivals of beast are rampant and the workers whom we can see as only Satanists in any way are sweeping over the Church, everybody looks to say nothing about them and mind their reputation only. This is dumb voice, isnft it?

11 gTherefore if I know not the meaning (power) of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me.h

The original word of the meaning here is power.

Therefore, we know it is said of the power of the voice.

Yes, the voice has power. The voice of the warning has power. We should know that.

Letfs do the will of the Lord in the end time.

End.
