TEXT: JOB 28: 12- 28 12 But where shall wisdom be found? and where is the place of understanding?

13 Man knoweth not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the living.

14 The depth saith, It is not in me: and the sea saith, It is not with me.

15 It cannot be gotten for gold, neither shall silver be weighed for the price thereof.

16 It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire.

17 The gold and the crystal cannot equal it: and the exchange of it shall not be for jewels of fine gold.

18 No mention shall be made of coral, or of pearls: for the price of wisdom is above rubies.

19 The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it, neither shall it be valued with pure gold.

20 Whence then cometh wisdom? and where is the place of understanding?

21 Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the fowls of the air.

22 Destruction and death say, We have heard the fame thereof with our ears.

23 God understandeth the way thereof, and he konweth the place thereof.

24 For he looketh to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven;

25 To make the weight for the winds; and he weigheth the waters by measure.

26 When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder:

27 Then did he see it, and declare it; he prepared it, yea, and searched it out.

28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding. (KJV)

Today we would like to learn that it is important for the God’s people to get understanding in the end time through a message entitled “LET HIM UNDERSTAND (2).”

It is written on Matthew concerning “the abomination of desolation” “(whoso readeth, let him understand:)” which is the key for the end time. But it is not mentioned who then this man is, when he comes, or how he comes.

But, it is known that this abomination of desolation may be the key for the end time. As is written, “Let him understand,” we should know that it is very much emphasized whether we understand or not in the end time.

Whether he can answer the questions to understand them in the entrance examination of the first class university will change his course of life for sure.

Yet even so, that would not kill him. But, whether we understand the word of the end time will make difference for us to live or to die at that time. We would like to learn it.

The Words concerning the end time have outstanding characteristic and difference to compare with those about other ages. For, the Words of the end time are written in mysteries and parables, and they are difficult to understand if read normally.

For example, we read descriptions about Moses. Regardless of our believing them or not, there is no description among them that we do not understand. It was clearly written as to make no mistake which race he was born of. (The answer: Hebrew) And, it was also clearly written without any doubt why he could learn in Egyptian education and royal study. (The answer: for he was grown as a child of the queen) Further, it was clearly read how old he was when he began to work to pull the Israel people out of Egypt. (The answer: 80 years old)

And this is not limited to the description about Moses. One of the characteristics of the Bible is that there are many concrete and historical descriptions, and it is also filled with concrete descriptions concerning other men and events.

For example, there are many concrete descriptions concerning the history of Christ. We know the name of His mother in the Bible. Not only this, but also we know all of the people who appear in the genealogy of Christ as a Man. For, there is the concrete description of the genealogy of Jesus up to Adam in the Gospel. And, furthermore, we also know concretely when he was born through the Bible. The Bible does not write like, “An honorable man was born in a far country a long time ago,” but mentions concrete name of the king in those days to show the time of His birth. (the days of Herod the king of Judah)

What I say lengthily is the principle of the Bible. The general principle of the Bible is in the description of no misunderstanding or no ambiguity. This is the principle flowing throughout both the Old and the New Testament.

But there is exception. This principle looks totally inapplicable to the description of the end time. Many descriptions and things concerning the end time are really impossible for us to understand and seem unclear of what are going to happen.

Do grasp that this is very different from the general principle and the way and is totally exceptional.

For example, picking up one, the second coming of Christ, there is no agreed opinion among Christians. Some say Christ will come again twice, and others say, “Not so, He should be coming only once.” The one who is opposed may be angry, but it is the situation that no one can say which one is absolutely correct, as both sides may have at least some say based on the Bible.

Therefore, can the conclusion be said like this? The descriptions of the end time are the difficult question God has specially set, which should be understood. The difficult question, for example, like the entrance examination of the first class university is not the one that anybody can solve (if not so, everybody can pass), but only those who have special ability answer correctly.

Likewise, God has prepared special difficult questions for the God people in the end time. And, these can never be solved without special understanding.

Many people do not understand that these are the special questions God has prepared so that they are off the mark to give answers.

For example, how about the words the Lord said on Matthew chapter 24?

It is written, “The stars shall fall from heaven,” but that is impossible in our world. For, the North Star and Orion’s Belt are much bigger that the earth, and if they fall to the earth the earth would be instantly destroyed and there would be no tribulation of three and a half years. The people of out time all know such a thing. And, it is natural that God knows it more than we do!

Even so the Lord said on purpose, “The stars shall fall from heaven,” for He wants us to notice that the difficult question, a parable, about the stars is set for us.

Even if we are thrown into the sea, we may be saved if we have life jackets. But, even if we have them, they would not be any help if we do not know how to use them.

Likewise, though all of our salvation, help, attack, enemy, and the way how to escape from it are written in the Bible, they are of no meaning if we cannot understand them.

Job said about this understanding, “The gold and the crystal cannot equal it: and the exchange of it shall not be for jewels of fine gold.”

Let’s look at the text.

12 “But where shall wisdom be found? and where is the place of understanding?

13 Man knoweth not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the living.”

The saying, “Man knoweth not the price thereof,” is certainly true, and the people of the end time do not know the value.

In fact, it will decide our eternal fate whether we receive the understanding of God or not, but there may be only a few people who take it seriously and seek it truly.

14 “The depth saith, It is not in me: and the sea saith, It is not with me.”

The word “the depth” used here is the same as the following.

So, the depth has relation to judgment. The depth that has relation to judgment said, “It is not in me.” Therefore, we know that the characteristic of the people who are judged do not have understanding.

15 “It cannot be gotten for gold, neither shall silver be weighed for the price thereof.

16 It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire.

17 The gold and the crystal cannot equal it: and the exchange of it shall not be for jewels of fine gold.”

The words “fine gold, gold, silver,” are related to faith. God said here that to get understanding is more important than to have faith.

Though it makes us surprised to find such a thing written in the Book of faith, the Bible, that understanding is more important, it is yet surely written so.

I agree with this idea of the Bible. For, let’s think of that revival of beast, for example. Many people gather in revival meetings, seeking revival, gifts, receiving laying on hands, and be blessed. They surely have faith in God and so seek such things earnestly.

But, there is a problem. They do not have understanding. They do not have ability to understand that the vessels of God whom they seek for gifts earnestly and are laid hands on of are actually giving them spirits of beast.

And as a result, they receive the spirits of beast and die spiritually. Therefore, understanding really “cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir (faith).”

18 “No mention shall be made of coral, or of pearls: for the price of wisdom is above rubies.

19 The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it, neither shall it be valued with pure gold.”

The price of wisdom and understanding is above jewels.

On that day there will be the people who are said of the Lord, “I know you not,” though they say, “Lord, Lord,” as they have done powerful works with the gifts of God. They should have no understanding.

20 “Whence then cometh wisdom? and where is the place of understanding?

21 Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the fowls of the air.”

Wisdom and understanding are hidden. And, the right interpretation of the prophecy for the end time is also hidden.

These are hidden so that they cannot be normally seen. This should be firmly understood. But, only those who seek the Lord for the true understanding will understand it. The fowls of the air are related to spirits, as is written below.

REVELATION 18: 2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. (KJV)

Satan and devils seem to know every thing, but are irrelevant to understanding.

22 “Destruction and death say, We have heard the fame thereof with our ears.”

Destruction and death heard the fame of it but do not have it.

Therefore, we know that those enter into destruction or get to death without receiving eternal life in the end time have no relation to understanding.

23 “God understandeth the way thereof, and he konweth the place thereof.”

Only God understands the way and knows the place of understanding.

Therefore, do remember that the understanding to judge what the right thing is comes only from God in this end time confused with much chaotic information.

24 “For he looketh to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven.”

God “looketh to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven.” What for? It is written, “Jehovah looks to the end of the earth and shows His power to those who accomplish their hearts.” So, it is for to search those who truly accomplish their hearts for God. And, the understanding will be given to them.

25 “To make the weight for the winds; and he weigheth the waters by measure.

26 When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder:

27 Then did he see it, and declare it (count); he prepared it (set), yea, and searched it out (seek).”

God counts wisdom. That is to say, the number of those who receive the wisdom of God and as a result escape from the judgment in the end time is limited, and God counts the number.

And, God sets wisdom and secures it. Uncertain wisdom or understanding is dangerous, but those who receive this wisdom will get to the certain understanding.

And, God seeks men who are suitable for the wisdom. If I am correct, this search of God has already begun.

28 “And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.”

Well, here is the conclusion written.

Understanding is very much emphasized on these verses like this. This understanding is not given according to cleverness or high IQ. Nor it is given because of the performance of the school.

As it is clearly written here, those who fear the Lord will obtain this wisdom.

On the day of the first coming of Jesus, Simeon and Anna who feared the Lord understood distinctly that this Person was the Savior to see the child Jesus. They had been given understanding and wisdom.

Therefore, God intends to give wisdom and understanding to those who fear the Lord, and those who are given wisdom understand clearly what the truth is. This will be the same case in the end time. We should remember this wisdom is given of God.

And, it is written, “to depart from evil is understanding.” Speaking conversely, those who are in the evil will never understand the difficult questions of God or the chaotic state of the end time and will perish.

To the contrary, God has planned to take in a trap those who do not refrain from distorting the Word and call themselves wise men in the end time. Therefore, the end time day will be difficult to understand what the truth is, as much information is confused both in the Church and this world.

Let’s do the will of the Lord in the end time.
