TEXT: 1 TIMOTHY 4: 1- 9 1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

3 forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:

5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

6 If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourishing up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.

7 But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.

8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is propfitable unto all things, having promise of life that now is, and of that which is to come.

9 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation. (KJV)

Today I would like to deliver a message entitled “DOCTRINES OF DEVILS.”

We would like to learn about doctrines of devil being rampant in the end time.

It is clearly mentioned on the letter of Timothy that doctrines of devils are coming out in the end time. As long as it is so, such will surely occur in the Christian Church in the end time. We would like to learn it.

Let’s look at the text.

1 “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.”

It is written here that in the latter times, that is, in the end time, some people (in the Church) “shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.” Therefore, if our time is now the end time, these doctrines of devils should surely come into the Church. And, some or even many people in the Church should be deceived by the spirits or doctrines.

Though it is thought such cannot be, it is supposed that this will also happen to the Church as long as the Bible says so. If we see it like this, we find many strange teachings in the Church now. Such should be surely the works of devils as, Mary shedding tears of blood, or revivals of beasts that make men behave like horses, monkeys or birds.

And, according to the homepage “The Horn,” the Partial Rapture Theory that Christ comes twice is based on the vision of medium, Margaret Macdonald, that Christ comes to take up Christians in rapture before the tribulation. Medium communicates with the dead, which the Bible prohibits. Since this theory spread, the number of Christians who prepare for the end time has decreased dramatically. For, it is quite natural that there would be no Christian who prepares for the tribulation age as he is taken up in rapture before the tribulation so that he would not experience it. So, we know it highly possible that this teaching comes from the devil, only to see this one thing that robs Christians to prepare for the end time.

This is just written as, “Some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils.” They surely “shall depart from the faith” with this doctrines of devils.

2 “Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron.”

It says that Christians will fall into deception and so speak lies that are far from the truth.

For example, the saying of Pope such as, “The theory of evolution is also correct,” means, if turned it over, a story like, “Genesis is a lie and a myth, and God is a liar,” that no Christian should say. But, those who are liars and as a result are far away from the Holy Spirit of truth do not have such eyes to find out this lie. For that reason, they will be entangled into such a stupid story and say calmly such unreasonable lies as, “That is right, and the theory of evolution does not contradict the Bible.

3 “forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.”

The word “marry” is usually used in the Bible to say with regard to the relation between Christ and the Church, Christians. So, forbidding to marry is said to liken to cut the relation between Christ and Christians. Surely many teachings of the end time are used to cut the relation between Christ and Christians.

For example, one of them is worship of Mary. Though it might look good to pray to Mary of Mother of god or of no original sin, such is actually wrong. Those who pray to her do not pray to the Person who should be truly relied on, Christ, so that they will be gone from God. Therefore, those who officially recognize or promote Mary are in fact the ones who forbid to marry, as is written here. Those who come to the Church all the way to worship the image of Mary who often fail the prophecies, who sheds tears of blood, or of Fatima, should know that they do not worship God but devils.

Further, it is written, “commanding to abstain from meats.” What does it mean? Of course it means first the foods such as bread, or soup. But it has another meaning of metaphor. The word “meats’ has relation to eating, and seems to show things which have relation to bread, the Word. So it may mean to command to cut off the Word of truth in the end time.

In fact this has already happened. Some people say such to make our faith to fail as, “Genesis is a myth. In the days of Paul, philology was not developed so that the people read the Bible literally, but we do not have to swallow so simply the descriptions on the Old Testament.” Like this, men of wisdom and knowledge really prohibit to accept the descriptions of the Bible as they are. The people like this are the ones who command to abstain from meats of the Word of God.

But the Bible says these teachings and ideas are from the devils. The theory of evolution is in short from the teaching of the devil that does not want to recognize God, and those who chop unreasonable logic referring to that teachings, saying such as, “The theory of evolution does not contradict the Bible (?),” should know that they have already become the instruments of devils.

The Bible says as to the Word of food as following.

“Which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.”

Apart from those who cannot discern the teaching of God from that of devils, this Word of God as food is the thing “which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.”

4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving.”

The main way of the teaching of the devil in the end time is to forsake the Word. It recommends forsaking the Word, chopping various logics against the Word and saying such as, “That part is unnecessary. This part should be deleted as it is not confirmed historically. This description is not reliable according to other study of philology.”

After the war, it is said that the translation of the Bible was drastically changed and more than ten thousand words were either modified or deleted. And, even if the descriptions of the Bible are not deleted but it is said, “Genesis is a myth,” nobody will study the description seriously.

In such a way like this the devil uses some people to let others forsake the Word. Yet what does the Word say? It says, “Every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving.” So, we should never forsake the Word of life, to be deceived by the devil.

6 “If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourishing up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.”

“These things” mean in short not to forsake the Word, the food of God, to be deceived by the specious argument or quibble of devil. It is written, if he does such, “Thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ.” But, to our regret, how many teachers who participate in betrayal to delete or reject the Word there are at the present time!

7 “But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.”

Wives are women, and women are the metaphor of churches. Churches, once being old like old wives, become to speak profane fables. Such teaching as, “Christ will come again twice,” is a fable to contradict the Bible, and such as, “There is no hell,” is also simple fable, dreaming, “Such is wonderful.” These should be avoided.

9 “This (logos) is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.”

Well, do pay attention to that it is again said at last, “This (logos) is a faithful saying,” in relation to the above train of descriptions about the Word. Therefore, as I repeat, what is attacked in the end time is the Word, the description of the Bible, and the enemy will focus on this.

The original word here is logos, and it is the completely same one as is used on John as to Christ, “The Word was God.” And it is written here as for the Word which is Christ Himself, “This (logos) is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.”

Many teachings and deceptions of the end time will be working in various ways to make people not to rely on the Word, deleting the words or saying such as, “unscientific, or myth.” It is said not to follow such deceptions, “This (logos) is a faithful saying,” and “Worthy of all acceptation.”

Let’s do the will of the Lord in the end time.
