TEXT: JEREMIAH 29: 8- 14 8 For thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners, that be in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed.

9 For they prophesy falsely unto you in my name: I have not sent them, saith the Lord.

10 For thus saith the Lord, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.

11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.

13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

14 And I will be found of you, saith the Lord: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the Lord; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive. (KJV)

Today let’s learn the description about seventy years on Jeremiah through a message entitled “THAT AFTER SEVENTY YEARS BE ACCOMPLISHED.”

On the above text of Jeremiah it is told that God would deliver those who are in captivity in Babylon from the captivity after seventy years.

This is in fact the word of promise of God to say that the God’s people of the New Testament Babylonized in the end time are delivered from the captivity and are brought back to the Promised Land, the walk of faith. We would like to learn that.

Let’s look at the text in turn.

8 “For thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners, that be in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed.

9 For they prophesy falsely unto you in my name: I have not sent them, saith the Lord.”

The Lord said this day, “For they prophesy falsely unto you in my name: I have not sent them, saith the Lord,” concerning the prophets who say, “God’s people will not be carried away to Babylon.” We should pay attention to this. They may encourage the people, saying good and positive things to them. What issue is there in this? There is one. And it is very important. It is, “I have not sent them, saith the Lord.” To the contrary, they say lies. This is very great problem.

This is very important to our generation who are in the face of the end time. Many teachers and workers stand up. They say about prosperity and blessing. What issue is there in this? Yes, there is. For, they never speak about Babylonian captivity.

The Church of this country is already Babylonized, and nobody speaks that the teaching of the Bible is deeply influenced and crooked by Babylonian Talmud. And, nobody intends to say that the work of the Holy Spirit is influenced by Kabala and magic derided of Babylon and the false revival is rampant.

But, this is in fact happening before our very eyes. So, as those prophets who said such were liars as, “We will not carried away to Babylon, and we will return soon,” we should know that those teachers who say such are liars as, “The Church is never Babylonized but is filled with blessing and has no problem.”

10 “For thus saith the Lord, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.”

The Lord said here about the people of Judah who are to be carried away to Babylon, “That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.” This word may have some meaning of metaphor.

Let’s see the meaning of the word.

Firstly, it refers to that the people of Judah, Jerusalem, will return to the land of Jerusalem after the captivity of seventy years. But not only that, but it means also another. For, the same Babylon, harlot Babylon, will appear in the end time. It is also the sign for the possibility of the seventy years captivity of the God’s people of the New Testament that Babylon appears in the book of the end time, Revelation.

And, this is surely suggested implicitly, if we read the Bible. Let’ look at the following description.

DANIEL 9: 2, 24, 2 In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.

24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to and seal up and the vision prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. (KJV)

The famous prophecy of seventy weeks of Daniel was given during his prayer on Daniel chapter 9. And, one thing that is paid attention to is that the clue of his prayer was that Jeremiah’s prophecy of seventy years. It is written as below.

“I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.”

Therefore, these two numbers of seventy may have relation each other. The word “seventy weeks” exactly means seventy times seven. So it seems that the Bible suggests that these two words, seventy years and seventy weeks, have relation each other.

The final fulfillment of the Word will be in the end time. And, it is written on the day, “to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.” So, we know that the God’s people of the New Testament will return from the land of desolations to the restored Church.

Surely we understand that the prophecy of seventy weeks corresponds to that of seventy years, and they say the same thing. The transgression of the Church against God will be finished on the day. And, the Church will make an end of sins and return to the righteousness. And, the Church will be reconciled for iniquity, be brought into everlasting righteousness and be led to the everlasting life.

It is written, “to and seal up the vision and prophecy.” So, the vision and prophecy of the end time are sealed during these seventy weeks, and nobody will be able to see the inside of them until the end of the seventy weeks. At the end of the seventy weeks, only then the seals are opened, and we will be able to see the truth of these vision and prophecy of the Bible.

Therefore, after the seals are opened, the interpretation will be different from that so far. Accordingly, they should not say such as, “This is the orthodox interpretation, and others are of heresy,” bringing up the old interpretation 100 or 200 years ago about the Revelation. Plainly speaking, those who say such unreasonable things should come back home again and study well what the revelation and seals mean.

And, it is “to anoint the most Holy,” that is, to anoint in the end time.

There are several hidden meanings in the number of seventy. One of them refers to one generation of a king in the Bible. It is written as below.

ISAIAH 23: 15 And it shall come to pass in that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king: after the end of seventy years shall Tyre sing as an harlot. (KJV)

One king to us refers to the government of no other than the only Person who rules the Church. And, there will be the restoration at the end of the seventy years, church age, and Christ’s government, that is, the end time.

One of the simply understandable types of the restoration of the Church at the end of seventy weeks or years is the restoration of the house of God by Jesus Christ.

According to the above Daniel chapter 9, it was after the sixty nine weeks (sixty two weeks) when anointed Christ was cut off, and this is precisely the event that happened at the end of seventy weeks ( years).

This time surely the above word on Daniel 9: 24 is fulfilled. That is, the transgression of many people is finished, sins are ended, iniquity is reconciled by the cross of Christ, many people are received everlasting life and the everlasting righteousness is brought in. The vision and prophecy were sealed, but the Word is opened by the Person who interprets parables. And it is to anoint the most Holy by the anointing of Pentecost.

Well, let’s come back to the text.

11 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

The Lord has thought good thoughts toward us for the end time. Those who do not pervert the Word and are faithful will take part in them.

12 “Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.”

The Lord says, “Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you,” at the end of the church age, the seventy years. There may be some people who say, “Why now? We know such already.” But, it has some meaning that God says so with intention. That is, because there are now, even now, only a few people who truly call on God and pray.

13 “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”

God further says, “Ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” It is now surely the time when there are only a few people who actually find and know God regardless of what they say. Such mysterious works of God that our fathers of faith saw in the past are gone before us (the phenomena of gold teeth and so on are another matter).

14 “And I will be found of you, saith the Lord: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the Lord; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.”

Captivity suggests that those who are servants of sins are delivered that day. And the word “all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you” means nations such as Babylon and Assyria. The Church is even now in captivity in Babylon and many lies are entered in the Church, but there will appear some people in the end time who return from it.

The saying, “I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you,” corresponds to the word on Gospel, “They shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” And it is written, “I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.”

The reason why the people were caused to be carried away captive is because of their unbelief and sin, but the Lord will bring them back on the day.

Those who returned from the captivity of seventy years in the days of Jeremiah came to the land of their fathers and inherited the Promised Land again. Likewise, there will some elect who return to the perfect Church in the end time like on the day of Pentecost.

Let’s do the will of the Lord in the end time.
