TEXT: REVELATION 8: 5- 12 5 And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.

6 And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.

7 The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all the green grass was burnt up.

8 And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;

9 And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.

10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;

11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.

12 And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise. (KJV)

Today I would like to deliver a message entitled “THE JUDGMENT ON THE THIRD PART.”

One of the characteristics of Bible is that there are meanings and relations among the same word and numbers.

Bible is the Book of mysteries, and one of the keys to understand it is to pay attention to the same words and numbers. It is told on the letter of Peter, “Do not make private interpretation,” that is to say, “The interpretation should not be done solely by the text.” In short, we should refer to other texts. Therefore, when there are words that cannot be understood, those who interpret them not only by the texts but refer to others will come to the right understanding. The same words should be referred to other texts ― for example, the word “wormwood” written on Revelation.

11 “And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.”

Many people make private interpretation on this verse and worldly interpretation such as that Chelnobyl is the wormwood and it is the contamination by nucleus. They do not understand the basics of Bible such as what rivers and waters mean biblically. And, they do not make any trifle effort to refer to other passages concerning the word wormwood. If they refer to others, they will find the passage as below.

JEREMIAH 23: 15 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts concerning the prophets; Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall: for from the prophets of Jerusalem is profaneness gone forth into all the land. (KJV)

When we look at this passage, we can see that “wormwood” means the judgment that has relation to the sins of the prophets, that is, the teachers in the present day. The teachers have relation to the Word and the anointing of the Holy Spirit. We can see it has nothing to do with nucleus or atomic power. They do not try to stand firm on the word of God who said to understand parables.

To the contrary, they give priority to the commentaries filled with ideas of this world and worldly news and make light of the Word. It is quite natural that they who are not filled with the Word but with commentaries and worldly news cannot understand this passage properly.

They are blind leaders of the blind. So they are well trapped into such simple deception as that wormwood means Chelnobyl.

Let’s interpret this passage. The prophets, the teachers, have relation to the Word of life and the Holy Spirit of living water. They are in a position to serve the people with the Word and the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

But it will be in the end time, “from the prophets of Jerusalem is profaneness gone forth into all the land.” The Word is conversely distorted and the anointing of the Holy Spirit is profaned through them. So, Lord says, “I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall.”

JEREMIAH 9: 15 Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will feed them, even this people, with wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink. (KJV)

Also, God has mentioned here to feed the people not with bread of life or water of life but with wormwood and water of gall. Because they despised the Word and the Holy Spirit, they would receive its consequences.

It also refers to the same thing, “the third part of the waters became wormwood” on Revelation. The waters, that is, the work of the Holy Spirit, should give life to the people and vegetation and beasts. But they will change to wormwood. In short, they will become the work of devils. Holy Spirit gives life, but devils bring death. So, “many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.” These people would lose their eternal life to be absorbed in signs and wonders of devils such as golden teeth.

It is not the main theme to write about wormwood.

Do pay attention that the number of third part is used many times. One of the characteristics of the Bible is that there are some meanings in the same words and numbers. The number third part is ought to carry some hidden meaning as it is used many times such as, “the third part of trees was burnt up.”

Earlier, we saw that the period of three and a half years mentioned in the Bible many times refer to the same period, the great tribulation age in the end time. So, the period of three and a half years of no rain in the days of Elijah refers to this period as the metaphor. We know that the great tribulation age has no rain or no Holy Spirit and it is the time of famine. Likewise, the period of Jesus’ life on earth for three and a half years is also the type of this period. Therefore, we understand that the great tribulation is the time of reproduction of Jesus’ sufferings. The people who persecuted Lord Jesus were not the Gentiles who did not know Bible but in stead the scribes and Pharisees, the professional religious people. Therefore, it is expected that those who will persecute the people who follow God in the great tribulation age in the end time are also professional people of the Bible and religion. When we understand that Bible is written with wisdom of God, so any number or word has relation and meaning to others, and these truths will be revealed.

Well, let’s think about the number of the third part. Why is this number used many times on the passage of the text? The reason is because these plural things essentially all refer to the same thing. These disasters actually have relation to each other. There are similar. That is why the number of the third part is used repeatedly here.

Let’s look at the text.

“There followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all the green grass was burnt up.”

The earth is not the place of heaven. Earth is a place where Christians who are attached to this world dwell. The trees are the metaphor of Christians like vine. They will be burnt up with hail and fire with blood, that is, revival of devils.

8 “And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood.”

The sea has water (Holy Spirit), and is the place where fish (Christians) dwell, but the third part of it becomes blood, which is the place of devils.

9 “And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.”

The creatures which have life are the metaphor of Christians who have received the eternal life. They would die spiritually. The ships are the metaphor of churches.

10 “And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;

11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.”

By the word “rivers”, the Gospel of John in the following should be reminded, “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” Therefore, the “waters” become “wormwood” because of the work of devil, not of Holy Spirit. As a result the eternal life of Christians would be lost like “many men died of the waters.”

12 “And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.”

The “sun”, the “moon” and the “stars” are metaphors of the spiritual descendants of Abraham, Christians, as they are said “stars of heaven.” Therefore, the message of what the above verse says is that things related to the Church, the work of the Holy Spirit, and Christians will be harmed and judged by God.

They never wrote about the things that have no relation to each other. Bible uses the common word of the third part on purpose in order for us to understand this relation. We must then understand it.

Let us do the will of the Lord in the end time.
